By 1979, El Pollo Loco had grown to 85 restaurants across Northern Mexico and became the first major Mexican restaurant brand to successfully expand into the United States. Its 1980 opening in Los Angeles marked a turning point, introducing authentic Mexican flavors to a broader U.S. audience.

Taco Palenque
When Don Pancho moved to the United States, he saw that authentic Mexican food wasn’t easy to find. As a passionate cook and natural host, he set out to change that. With his heritage and culinary skill, he created Taco Palenque — serving fresh ingredients and the traditional flavors of Mexico. It quickly became a South Texas favorite.
